Oh Boy...

While Garth Snow enjoys leisure time on his personal day, the Rangers have been rather active, shoring up their defense with the signings of Michal Rozsival and Wade Redden. And by "shoring up", I mean "dumping $11 million a year into two defensemen who are worth maybe $7 million a year combined".

Zach warned everyone about Redden yesterday; surely, he's not too thrilled about this development. Rozsival... well, I guess today is the day for big contracts that haven't exactly been earned.

My question is this: How exactly does not signing Sean Avery, but getting Redden and re-signing Rozsival, make the Rangers a better team than they were this past season? I don't see it.
